Myles Jury will get what is likely to be his toughest test yet when he returns to the cage in March looking to stay unbeaten.
Jury (13-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) has signed to fight onetime lightweight title challenger Diego Sanchez (24-6 MMA, 13-6 UFC) at UFC 171. UFC officials announced the fight booking on Thursday.
UFC 171 takes place March 15 at American Airlines Center in Dallas. The main card, featuring a light heavyweight title fight between champion Jon Jones and Glover Teixeira, airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and MMAjunkie.
Jury, a product of Season 15 of “The Ultimate Fighter,” is unbeaten, including 4-0 officially in the UFC, not counting his fights in the “TUF” house. In September, Jury won a hard-fought split decision against Mike Ricci at UFC 165 in Toronto to stay perfect. That victory came after a knockout of Ramsey Nijem in April.
Sanchez, a seven-time “Fight of the Night” winner, has picked up that bonus four times in his past five fights. Included in there was his “Fight of the Year” candidate bloodbath of a slugfest against Gilbert Melendez at UFC 166 in October. That was Sanchez’s second fight after returning to lightweight following a run at welterweight.
