Diego Brandao vs. Daniel Pineda added to UFC on FOX Sports 1 1 in Boston

Additions to the UFC’s debut on FOX Sports 1 continue to come at a fast and furious pace.

A featherweight bout between Diego Brandao (17-8 MMA, 3-1 UFC) and Daniel Pineda (18-9 MMA, 3-2 UFC) is the latest fight to be added to UFC on FOX Sports 1 1 in Boston. UFC officials announced the fight on Wednesday night.

UFC on FOX Sports 1 1 takes place Aug. 17 at TD Garden in Boston and will be the promotion’s debut on the new cable network, which launches the same day. The main card, which will be five hours in length, airs on FOX Sports 1.

Brandao, the Season 14 featherweight winner of “The Ultimate Fighter,” has rebounded from the lone loss of his UFC career, a unanimous decision setback to Darren Elkins a little more than a year ago, with back-to-back wins over Joey Gambino and Pablo Garza. In April, he submitted Garza in the first round in Sweden. The Jackson’s MMA product won “TUF 14? when he rallied to submit Dennis Bermudez in the first round, winning both “Submission of the Night” and “Fight of the Night” in the process in December 2011.

The Texas-based Pineda in April rebounded from back-to-back losses when he submitted Justin Lawrence just 95 seconds into their fight at the TUF 17 Finale in Las Vegas. He took home a “Submission of the Night” bonus for the kimura and snapped a two-fight skid that came at the hands of Mike Brown and Antonio Carvalho. Pineda has all three of his UFC wins by submission, including a 2-0 start in the promotion with stoppages of Pat Schilling and Mackens Semerzier.
