The upcoming TUF Brazil 3 Finale lineup has lost one of its featured preliminary-card contests.
Diego Brandao (18-9 MMA, 4-2 UFC) has suffered an undisclosed injury and has been forced out of his bout with featherweight Brian Ortega (8-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC), officials today announced. Due to the short time frame, a replacement won’t be sought.
The TUF Brazil 3 Finale takes place May 31 at Sao Paulo’s Ibirapuera Gymnasium. The event is expected to air and stream on a combination of FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
Brandao looked to rebound from a loss to Dustin Poirier in December. “The Ultimate Fighter 14? winner badly missed weight (151.5 pounds) for the fight and then suffered a first-round knockout, which halted a three-fight winning streak.
Ortega, an undefeated prospect who captured the RFA featherweight title in January, was slated to make his UFC debut.
