Dana White vlog: Behind scenes of UFC 166 and Melendez-Sanchez bloody battle

In his latest video blog, UFC President Dana White takes us behind the scenes of UFC 166, which took place Oct. 19 at Houston’s Toyota Center.

The video, more than 12 minutes long, takes us inside the most recent pay-per-view ahead of Wednesday’s UFC Fight Night 31 card in Fort Campbell, Ky., and UFC Fight Night 32 in Brazil.

UFC 166 featured a main event heavyweight title fight between champion Cain Velasquez and former champ Junior dos Santos. But the night’s highlight undoubtedly was the lightweight clash between Gilbert Melendez and Diego Sanchez, a bloody battle that many have called the best fight in UFC history. Check out Melendez and Sanchez interacting with White after the fight, and interacting with each other after the fight, and see Velasquez get stitched up after his win over JDS.

Check out those scenes, as well as these, with the video above:

  • 1:35 – White does a TV spot to promote UFC 166 and talks to Urijah Faber about who he thinks will win the main event.
  • 4:00 – White tells Tony Ferguson he looked good in his win.
  • 4:30 – Members of the Houston Rockets NBA team meet with White backstage tanned talk about whether or not they’d ever get in the octagon.
  • 6:32 – White congratulates Jessica Eye for her win over Sarah Kaufman.
  • 7:25 – Gabriel Gonzaga and Travis Browne talk after Gonzaga’s knockout win.
  • 8:00 – White enters the cage to talk to Melendez and Sanchez.
  • 8:55 – dos Santos and Velasquez have their walkouts.
