Dana White “Trying Out” Women’s MMA with the Bantamweight Division in the UFC


It’s been a long road for women to finally get the chance to compete inside the UFC Octagon, and it will happen
in 2013 with the debut of champion Ronda Rousey.

For years, UFC President Dana White has been against a women’s division due to a lack of depth outside of a few key figures at the top of the sport, but now with Rousey’s emergence as a legitimate star, the promotion is willing to give it a shot.

So beginning next year, the 135lb division including Rousey will debut in the UFC.

Dana White talks to MMAWeekly.com about the new division, Cris Cyborg’s chances of fighting in the UFC, and how this new deal affects the existing relationship between the UFC and Invicta FC as well:
