Despite his loss at UFC 117, Chael Sonnen has earned an immediate rematch with UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva. UFC president Dana White, who's busy with a final media blitz for this week's UFC 118 event in Boston, today confirmed the plans while on ESPN's "SportsCenter," though a date has not been determined for the rematch. Sonnen dominated four and a half rounds of the Aug. 7 fight before Silva scored a come-from-behind triangle-choke victory in the fifth and final round.

I think it will be another good fight. If Anderson loses, that would be interesting.

Well I think if it goes to the ground again than Sonnen will win but if Silva can defend well enough he will tear up Sonnen in the stand up.

Also as far as his recognizing threats. He did a good job in preventing the triangle choke in the first 4 rounds. The last round he was caught did a escape and ended up getting caught in an arm bar on his way out. So he either had to continue to escape and hurt his arm severely or go back forward and back into the triangle choke. He did alot of training for the fight just make a mistake with how he left his arm up instead of it being down.

sonnen loses all his matches via last minute submission, this is nothing new. silva won this match fair, no need for a rematch....lets move on.

But it was such a good fight! The UFC thinks this is the best option because of promotion. It's just sad because Silva is getting older, maybe going to retire soon, and there's so many other fighters I want to see him up against.
