Australian promotion Cage Fighting Championship has overturned a disputed decision from a match between Adrian Pang and Muhsin Corbbrey at CFC 17.

Announced as a split draw during the June 3 event at Southport Sharks Function Centre in Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, the three-round lightweight affair has been ruled a split decision victory for Pang upon review.

Sherdog.com confirmed the news with Pang’s manager, Tony Green, on Wednesday. Green explained that the Australian fighter’s side felt all along that Pang had earned the win, as evidenced by the live crowd’s boos following the reading of the decision.

“An appeal was lodged immediately against the drawn decision by Integrated MMA management due to two of the three judges themselves questioning the decision, as they had Adrian Pang ahead on their scorecards at the end of three rounds,” Green told Sherdog.com. “After investigation into the scorecards handed over, an error was found in the addition of one of the judges’ scorecards, and ... head referee Steve Perceval has corrected the decision to reflect Adrian Pang [as the] winner by decision.”

While the scorecards were originally announced as 29-28, 28-29 and 28-28, a review by CFC officials and Perceval, founder and head instructor of MMA Officials Australia, revealed that two judges actually scored the bout for Pang, while one gave it to Corbbrey.

Representatives from MMA Officials Australia were not immediately available for comment.
