A 145-pound bout between Clay Guida and Tatsuya Kawajiri has been agreed to for the UFC card in Abu Dhabi later this year, according to reports on Friday.
As reported by FOX Sports, the Guida vs. Kawajiri tilt adds to the growing UFC Fight Night 39 card, which takes place on April 11.
Guida (30-14) comes into the upcoming fight off a loss to top-ranked flyweight Chad Mendes at UFC 164 in August last year. The Jackson’s MMA product has lost three of his last four fights, but before the skid earned a win over current UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis.
Kawajiri (33-7-2) won his UFC debut last month by submission after a successful career run in Japan. A former Shooto welterweight champion, “Crusher” has notable wins over Josh Thomson and Michihiro Omigawa.
UFC Fight Night 39 is currently headlined by a heavyweight bout between former UFC and Pride FC champ Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Roy Nelson.
