Undefeated UFC middleweight Chris Weidman has wanted to fight Anderson Silva since he began training mixed martial arts, and he gets that opportunity on Saturday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
“From day one, as soon as I started my first sparring session ever, when I was learning how to strike, I envisioned myself beating Anderson Silva. I envisioned myself in the cage with him,” said Weidman during the UFC 162 open workouts on Wednesday.
“It’s time to shine. It’s time to make a statement. It’s time to make believers out there. I just want to come out and beat him,” he said.
