Cheick Kongo at UFC 87

MMAWeekly.com caught up with Cheick Kongo at Gold’s Gym in Tokyo, Japan. Kongo knows UFC 144 opponent Mark Hunt is a “buff guy” and has much respect for him. In regards to their upcoming fight, Kongo feels it’s a job and a waste of time to pick apart Hunt’s game. It’s just time to fight.

A lot of fighters are worried about recovering from the time zone change when traveling to Japan, but Kongo used to be a “night worker,” so he feelsit  doesn’t affect him that much. But 20 years ago, he went from security guard to superhero.

Check out what Cheick Kongo had to say at the UFC 144 open workouts in Japan…

Fighters like Sam Alvey, Kevin Casey, Leonardo Mafra (both Casey and Mafra are actually returning), and Rin Nakai and Tina Lahdemaki (who were each covered in seperate posts). Hopefully I won't have to do this much more, but with the accelerated rate at which the UFC appears to be signing t more
