Caio Magalhaes vs. Nick Ring added to UFC Fight Night 33 in Brisbane

caio-magalhaes-1.jpgA middleweight bout between Caio Magalhaes (6-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) and Nick Ring (13-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) is the latest addition to December’s UFC Fight Night 33 event.

UFC officials recently announced the bout.

UFC Fight Night 33 takes place Dec. 7 in the Queensland capital at Brisbane Entertainment Centre. Broadcast plans haven’t been announced, but the event is expected to air on FOX Sports 1 or FOX Sports 2 following prelims on Facebook. Due to the time difference, the event takes place Saturday, Dec. 7, in Australia (but Friday, Dec. 6, in the U.S.).

It’s not clear where Magalhaes vs. Ring will be placed on the lineup.

Magalhaes made his UFC debut in 2012 after a 5-0 start to his pro career. However, the Brazilian then suffered a unanimous-decision loss to Buddy Roberts in his octagon debut. After an injury layoff of a full year, he returned to the octagon in June and rallied to score a come-from-behind submission victory over Karlos Vemola at UFC on FUEL TV 10.

Ring, meanwhile, looks to rebound from a narrow split-decision defeat to Chris Camozzi at UFC 158 earlier this year. Prior to the setback, “The Ultimate Fighter 11? cast member posted a 13-1 record, and the lone defeat came via decision to top 10 middleweight Tim Boetsch in his third UFC appearance.
