Cage Warriors signs British featherweight and Bellator vet Andrew Fisher

andrew-fisherCage Warriors Fighting Championship continues to bolster its featherweight roster with the signing of England’s Andrew Fisher.

Fisher (12-6-1) has signed a five-fight deal with Cage Warriors, the promotion recently announced. No first bout was announced for the 28-year-old, who joins the promotion on a two-fight skid.

Fisher, from Sunderland, England, most recently fought for Bellator, where he dropped a unanimous decision to Saul Almeida at Bellator 110 in February. Prior to that, he dropped a decision to Joe Taimanglo at Bellator 99 this past September.

Prior to those losses, Fisher was on a seven-fight unbeaten streak with a 6-0-1 record, with all six wins coming by stoppage. In fact, all but one of his career wins have been by finish.

“I’m really looking forward to finally fighting for Cage Warriors,” Fisher stated. “It almost happened a few times in the past, but now I know that the time is definitely right.”

Fisher’s signing continues to stack up the promotion’s 145-pound division, as he now joins the likes of Graham Turner, Chris Fishgold, Alex Enlund, Arnold Allen and Martin Svensson as highly regarded featherweights in the ranks.
