Cage Warriors locks up several standouts with new contracts

nicolas-dalby-cage-warriors-66-400Cage Warriors has locked up several of its best fighters with new contracts, the promotion announced.

Nicolas Dalby, Danny Roberts, Mohsen Bahari, Bruno “B.C.” Carvalho, Dave HillAlex Enlund and Ronnie Mann all have new deals with the England-based company. The deals are for an additional five fights after their current deals expire.

“To have seven fighters of this caliber renewing their commitment to Cage Warriors tells its own story,” Cage Warriors CEO Graham Boylan stated. “It’s a clear indication that we’re a promotion top fighters want to be a part of, and that Cage Warriors is the place to be for fighters who possess the ambition to take a legitimate route to the top of this sport. We have a proven track record of creating stars and we’ll continue to do that – but on an even grander scale than before. When fighters commit to this promotion, we commit to doing what’s best for them and their careers.”

Dalby (12-0), Cage Warriors’ welterweight champion, is expected to defend his title later this year. In March, he won the belt with a knockout of Sergei Churilov in the main event at Cage Warriors 66 in his native Denmark.

Welterweight Roberts (11-1) recently topped Jimmy Wallhead in the Cage Warriors 68 main event in Liverpool, England. He’s 6-0 under the Cage Warriors banner, giving him the longest current winning streak of any fighter on the roster. Bahari (8-1), also a welterweight, is coming off a win at Cage Warriors 69 a month ago in London, where he beat three-time UFC veteran Benny Alloway.

Carvalho (15-9) dropped decisions to Bahari and Jack Mason earlier this year, but the welterweight will look to get back on track in 2014. Hill (12-3) has back-to-back wins over Brian Moore and Miguel Haro in the featherweight division. Enlund (10-2) has three straight submission wins in the featherweight division, and now awaits a return from injury. And despite a loss to Marcelo Costa at Cage Warriors 68 in May, Mann (23-7-1) remains a threat in the bantamweight division.
