Cage Warriors Fight Night 11 results: Mason earns decision win over Vallee

The Cage Warriors Fight Night 11 main event between Jack Mason and Patrick Vallee was one of the more competitive bouts of the evening, but the end result saw Mason take home a unanimous-decision win.

Their bout streamed on MMAjunkie from King Hussein Young City Boxing Arena in Amman, Jordan.

While Mason earned 30-27 scorecards from two of the judges and a 29-28 from the other, the welterweight headliner was much closer than the final tallies suggest.

Mason (27-13) and Vallee (10-6-1) went toe-to-toe for the majority of the three-round affair, each having several moments of success in the striking range. However, “The Stone” proved to be the more diverse fighter with takedowns between those successes on the feet and ultimately took the victory.

The Englishman had pressure to avoid a second consecutive defeat after losing his previous bout in March. Fortunately, he got back on the winning track in the 12th Cage Warriors appearance of his career.

Pekov overcomes point deduction for late finish of Moore

Marat Pekov (12-5) was cruising to what was very likely going to be a dominant decision win against Brian Moore (7-4) – until disaster struck.

In the third round, Pekov threw an illegal knee to the head of his downed opponent. The strike resulted a two-point deduction, essentially negating all of Pekov’s work. Unless he got a finish, the bout was on its way to being a draw.

Pekov, though, got the needed finish with less than 30 seconds left in the final frame as he took the back and pounded on Moore until the referee stopped the fight.

Hermansson rallies late, gets past Pascu

Jack Hermansson (7-2) was in deep trouble in the first round when he was knocked down and nearly finished by Ion Pascu (8-5). However, instead of taking the easy out, Hermansson fought hard in the second and third rounds to get the decision.

The second round was close and could have easily gone either way, but all three judges saw it for Hermansson, which was the deciding factor in his victory.

Hadbi outpoints Johnson over three rounds

Tahar Hadbi (10-5) was one step ahead of Michael “Black Death” Johnson (9-7) from start to finish en route to a clear-cut decision victory.

Johnson hung in there for all three rounds but had little to offer as Hadbi out-landed and out-grappled him. It wasn’t the most exciting contest of the event, but Hadbi proved the superior fighter and got 15 minutes of valuable experience inside the cage.

Allen obliterates Huber, stays unbeaten

It took Arnold Allen (7-0) less than a minute to earn his latest victory and keep his undefeated MMA record in tact, this time against an overmatched Tobias Huber (5-5).

It was short and sweet as Allen attacked Huber with a vicious onslaught of punches while his opponent hugged the leg in desperate search for a takedown.

Allen has finished all but one of his professional fights, but his victory over Huber was easily his shortest thus far.

Redmond dominates, loses via cut

Everything was going according to plan for John Redmond (5-8). He took Craig White (7-5) to the ground, dominated position and nearly finished the fight. However, one knee changed everything.

White landed a knee to Redmond’s face early in the second round and opened a gruesome gash on his forehead. The referee stepped in to check the cut and needed just seconds to wave off the fight.
