Lobov, Garnett earn stoppage wins

In a thrilling featherweight bout, 2-1 underdog Artem Lobov (10-10), nicknamed “The Prospect Killer,” was nearly pounded out by Andrew Fisher (12-7-1) in the first round. However, he rallied to even up the fight through two rounds and then score a TKO stoppage in the final second of the final round. Lobov unloaded a barrage of punches on his kneeling opponent to force the referee’s intervention.

In light-heavyweight action, Karl Moore (8-4) and Lloyd Clarkson (6-6) engaged in a 15-minute slugfest that left both badly bloodied. In the end, though, Moore, who proved the crisper and busier fighter and dominated the early action, earned the unanimous-decision victory via 30-27, 30-25 and 30-25 scores.

In the day’s lone flyweight bout, Paul Marin (8-4) earned a hard-fought and entertaining decision win over Andy Young (6-6). The duo received a standing ovation following the back-and-forth bout, but Marin ultimately earned the unanimous decision via 29-28 scores across the board.

In the night’s main-card opener, bantamweight Dean Garnett (7-0) was the first to claim one of Cage Warriors’ new $2,000 rare-finish bonuses after tapping out Martin Sheridan (7-6) with an inverted heel hook. He almost earned a second one for finishing an opponent in 60 seconds or less.
