Cage Warriors 55 weigh-in results: Che Mills misses weight for Cathal Pendred

Che Mills isn’t off to a good start in his second stint with Cage Warriors.

The UFC vet, who fought once for Cage Warriors in 2010, missed weight by seven-tenths of a pound for a headliner with welterweight champ Cathal Pendred at Cage Warriors 55. Promotion officials were forced to make the fight a three-round, non-title bout.

Mills also was fined 25 percent of his purse. The remaining 17 competitors made weight without issue.

Cage Warriors 55 takes place Friday at The Helix in Dublin, with main-card fights streaming on MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) (4 p.m. ET) and prelims serving on Facebook (3:10 p.m. ET).

Pendred won the title in his previous outing, outpointing Gael Grimaud at Cage Warriors 52. The Irish fighter has won six of his past seven bouts.

Mills makes his first outing since a decision loss to Matt Riddle at UFC on FUEL TV 7 that ended his octagon career. He is 4-1 since his most recent appearance in Cage Warriors, where he won a decision over Jake Hecht.

In an interview on MMAjunkie.com Radio (www.mmajunkie.com/radio), Mills said he signed an exclusive five-fight deal with the international promotion.
