Jim Alers and Joni Salovaara today successfully made weight for their championship headliner at Saturday’s Cage Warriors 53 event in Scotland.

Alers (144.4 pounds) and Salovaara (144.6) fight for a featherweight title that recent UFC signee Conor McGregor vacated.

Cage Warriors 53 takes place at Kelvin Hall in Glasgow. The main card, which streams live on MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com), begins at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT (9 p.m. BST local time). Cage Warriors’ Facebook page carries two preliminary-card bouts an hour earlier.

All other fighters today initially made weight except for prelim opponents Rich Edgeworth (136.2) and Jean N’Doye (137.2), who had two hours to make the 136-pound limit. However, Edgeworth quickly shed the extra weight. N’Doye, though, opted to quit the effort and rehydrate, and he’s surrendered 20 percent of his purse.

The full Cage Warriors 53 weigh-in results included:

MAIN CARD (MMAjunkie.com, 4 p.m. ET)

PRELIMINARY CARD (Facebook, 3 p.m. ET)

* – Surrenders 20 percent of his purse for missing weight
