The first event will air on Feb. 12 at 10:00 p.m. EST, according to a press release.
King of the Cage, a U.S.-based promotion established in 1998, entered into a joint-venture agreement with Barnett -- the creator of the hit reality shows “Survivor,” “The Contender” and “The Apprentice” -- in 2009 after KOTC owner Terry Trebilcock re-acquired the organization after a failed merger with Pro Elite. KOTC champions and other featured talent have appeared regularly on the Burnett-produced “Bully Beatdown” on MTV for both of its seasons.
Meanwhile, KOTC continues to hold events stateside, and made its debut in Japan last Saturday.
"The award-winning story telling of Mark Burnett will bring the personalities of MMA to life in a way that has never been seen before,” said HDNet owner Mark Cuban in the release.
"MMA fighters are some of the most fascinating personalities I have ever encountered, and I am excited about the opportunity to help KOTC to bring those characters to life on HDNet," added Burnett. "I am impressed with the quality of King of the Cage, and we look forward to bringing their brand to the next level in conjunction with Mark Cuban, who is one of the truly great entrepreneurs of media and sports."
