'Brock Lesnar: Best of the Beast' debuts on UFC Fight Pass

More than two years after his final UFC appearance, Brock Lesnar is once again a UFC headliner.

It seems as though his fighting days are done, but Lesnar remains as popular as ever among MMA fans. Now, his full UFC career is available online, along with a few new special features sure to please professional wrestling and MMA fans alike.

UFC Fight Pass, the UFC’s digital network, recently added “Brock Lesnar: Best of the Beast” to its Fight Collection library. The curated collection features 20 different Lesnar-related videos, including his UFC bouts with Shane Carwin, Randy Couture, Heath Herring, Frank Mir, Alistair Overeem and Cain Velasquez, as well as the various “Countdown” series that focused on the former UFC heavyweight champion and current WWE superstar.

Additionally, professional wrestling legends “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Jim Ross are featured in new interviews centered on Lesnar and what made him a superstar and the worlds of cagefighting and sporting entertainment.

Lesnar, now 36 years old, was a two-time NCAA All-American wrestler for the University of Minnesota who turned to professional wrestling when his collegiate career was over. A massive man with uncanny athleticism for such a hulking frame, Lesnar established himself as one of the biggest superstars in sporting entertainment before eventually turning his attention to MMA.

Despite just one professional fight, a 2007 win over Min-Soo Kim, Lesnar was offered a UFC contract and made his octagon debut against Frank Mir at UFC 81. The bout featured a bit of controversy, as Lesnar appeared to be well on his way to a TKO win before referee Steve Mazzagatti halted the action to deduct a point for striking his opponent, Frank Mir, to the back of the head. Mir used the restart to secure a submission win, launching one of the biggest rivalries on recent UFC history – eventually leading to a rematch that would serve as the headliner of 2009's historic UFC 100 event.

Along the way, Lesnar would win the UFC heavyweight title with a 2008 win over Randy Couture, defending it twice with victories over Mir and Shane Carwin.

Lesnar would eventually cede the belt to current champ Velasquez, and his career would come to an end one fight later after a loss to Overeem. Lesnar cited his ongoing struggles with diverticulitis, an intestinal disorder that in 2011 forced doctors to remove a 12-inch section of the fighter’s colon, as his reason for walking away from MMA and eventually returning to professional wrestling.

UFC Fight Pass, which costs $9.99 per month, is the official online home of Zuffa’s extensive fight library, as well as exclusive live events and live preliminary-card matchups for most UFC events. A seven-day free trial is currently being offered for new subscribers, as well.

UFC Fight Pass will also air next weekend’s “UFC Fight Night 39: Minotauro vs. Nelson” event live from Abu Dhabi.
