Oriol ‘The Cookie Monster’ Gaset (15-7) has claimed the BRACE lightweight title with a first-round stoppage over Sonny Brown (5-3) at Brace For War 19 on Saturday night at the Big Top in Luna Park, Sydney, Australia.
Brown landed the first clean blow of the fight, but Gaset formely from Barcinlona in Spain applied the pressure and caught Brown with a short right as he came forward dropping the former champion. Gaset rushed in finishing off the fight with hammer-fists at 2:31 of round one.
The victory was Gaset’s fourth straight since moving to Australia early last year, while Brown has suffered his second straight TKO loss after previously being on a five-fight winning streak.
In the co-main event, Corey Nelson claimed the vacant BRACE Welterweight title with a third round stoppage against Tony Rossini.
