Bisping: With no 'magic sauce,' Belfort unlikely to beat champ Weidman at UFC 187

As a nearly decade-long member of the UFC’s middleweight division, veteran Michael Bisping has some thoughts about Saturday’s title fight in the division.

In UFC 187’s pay-per-view co-headliner in Las Vegas, middleweight Chris Weidman (12-0 MMA, 8-0 UFC) looks for his third title defense when he takes on ex-titheolder Vitor Belfort (24-10 MMA, 13-6 UFC), who’s a 4-1 underdog.

Bisping has history with one half of the matchup; he suffered a head-kick TKO loss to Belfort in 2013, when the Brazilian was still using now-banned testosterone-replacement therapy. It’s one reason Bisping likes Weidman’s chances in this weekend’s title fight.

“With Vitor off the TRT – off that magic sauce – how’s he going to be?” Bisping said. “He’s proclaiming to feel younger and he’s better and faster and all this.

“Listen, it’s still a great fight with a lot of fantastic technique. But I believe Chris Weidman will win that fight.”
