Frankie Edgar and Benson Henderson at UFC 144
Benson Henderson vs. Frankie Edgar… take two… has now been scheduled.

The rematch for the UFC lightweight title now has a date as Henderson and Edgar have agreed to face off at UFC 150, tentatively scheduled for Aug. 11 in Denver.

Sources close to the match-up confirmed the date for the fight with MMAWeekly.com on Friday with verbal agreements in place for the August showdown. MMAJunkie.com first reported the news.

Edgar and Henderson first met at UFC 144 in February in Japan. Henderson came out on top that night winning a unanimous decision over Edgar.

The fight was razor close in the minds of most experts, so the UFC decided to give Edgar another crack at Henderson after he himself had ended up in rematches with his last two opponents.

Now the two lightweights will go to battle one more time with the UFC lightweight title up for grabs.

The current schedule has UFC 150 landing at Denver’s Pepsi Center, which hosted UFC 135 in September 2011 featuring Jon “Bones” Jones against Quinton “Rampage” Jackson in the main event.

Now Denver fans will be treated to a lightweight title fight as Edgar tries to reclaim the gold, while Henderson looks to solidify his position as the top 155-pound fighter in the world.

When a fighter loses a title fight, he usually has to go back to the drawing board, see what went wrong and figure out how to come back stronger. With more divisions and fighters now than ever before, there are far more title fights and far more title contenders. Some contenders are ready for a second or maybe even a third shot at the belt.
