Bellator welterweight champion Ben Askren will put his title on the line against last season’s tournament winner Douglas Lima on April 6 in Windsor, Ontario Canada.
Bellator officials announced the fight on Wednesday.
Still undefeated as a pro fighter, Ben Askren will look to make another successful defense of his title when he returns in April.
The former Olympian last competed when he took a split decision over former UFC and Strikeforce welterweight Jay Hieron last October.
Now he faces one of the top rising stars in the division, former MFC champion Douglas Lima.
Lima signed with Bellator in 2011 and made waves immediately with a dominant run through the welterweight tournament.
Three straight wins, including a KO over former ‘Ultimate Fighter’ competitor Ben Saunders put Lima in the position to challenge for Askren’s title.
The card will take place at Caesar’s Windsor and will also feature the featherweight tournament semifinals and bantamweight quarterfinals.
The show will air on MTV 2 in the United States.
