Things are starting to take shape for Bellator welterweights as the fourth season nears its start on MTV2.

The participants have been announced, but pairings have remained elusive. MMAWeekly.com sources, however, confirmed partBellator Fighting Championships MMA Logo of the bracket layouts. Official contracts have yet to be signed, but have been verbally agreed to by the participants.

Former UFC veteran and Strikeforce evacuee Jay Hieron is set to collide with Steve Carl and British Rough House standout Jimmy Wallhead will be engaging with Rick Hawn.

For Hieron, the bout will mark a return to competition after a year of inactivity following the dissolution of contract negotiations with previous employer Strikeforce. For Wallhead, the inclusion is a welcome reward for a successful, but long overdue debut victory over Ryan Thomas back in October last year.

The Bellator 170-pound tournament is now in its third incarnation, with the aforementioned fighters being joined by Season 1 winner Lyman Good, Dan Hornbuckle, Chris Lozano, and Brett Weedman in the quest to reveal an eventual challenger to Ben Askren’s crown.

At the time of publication, the two final brackets are yet to be confirmed by the promotion.
