Spike Sports announced the programming change via Twitter on Monday. Beginning this week, “Fight Master” will appear at 11 p.m. ET Thursday evening on Spike, immediately following TNA Impact Wrestling. A Bellator official confirmed to Sherdog.com that the show would stay in its new time slot for the remainder of the season.
According to various reports, Episode 7 of “Fight Master” drew a series-low 398,000 viewers to Spike TV, well below its high-water mark of 676,000 viewers for Episode 3. After drawing an audience of 432,000 for its debut, “Fight Master” ratings had, for the most part, trended upward until last week.
By moving “Fight Master,” the promotion is likely hoping to see a ratings increase by attracting viewers who watch TNA wrestling to the reality series. Bellator MMA held 11 fight cards on Thursday nights during its first season on Spike, but the majority of the organization’s Season 9 events will air on Friday nights.
