Tonight, NBC will be host to its very first primetime television MMA card. The World Series of Fighting has come a long way in just a little over two years, and are realizing their vision for a bright future with their 11th card. The Independence Day weekend has historically been a big one in general for MMA, and this one promises to keep in that tradition.

On Saturday afternoon at WSOF 11, undefeated Justin Gaethje looked to defend his lightweight title against the also undefeated Nick Newell.
The fight started off very competitive, with Newell throwing, and landing, combinations and even threatening with a submission at one point. As the round wore on, Gaethje began to land major power shots that slowed Newell down.

Wednesday night, Donald Cerrone and Jim Miller main evented UFC Fight Night 45 in Atlantic City. It was a fight that did not disappoint.
