At Bellator 60 on Friday night, the upstart promotion crowned a new featherweight champion as Pat Curran knocked out Joe Warren to capture the belt.
Curran and Warren fought two hard, back and forth rounds, before the fight came to an abrupt close in the third.
Connecting with a big knee strike, Curran followed up with a barrage of punches against a stunned Joe Warren against the cage.
The video below shows the final knockout, but not the excessive shots that Warren took when the referee refused to step in and stop the fight. Warren took a number of blows that seemed just unnecessary due to the referee’s poor judgment in the fight.
