On a night headlined by Eduardo Dantas defeating Joe Warren for the world bantamweight title, Bellator 166 featured eight fights from Winstar World Casino and Resort in Thackerville, Oklahoma.

Honeycutt Dominates Reiter
The first fight of the main card provided a solid all-around performance from Chris Honeycutt on his way to a win via unanimous decision over Ben Reiter.
It began with a takedown in the first round after dodging a punch from Reiter, followed by a number of solid knees.
He continued to land body blows with the knees in the second round that also included a leg takedown along the fence.
Honeycutt pulled away in the third round when he landed multiple combinations to Reiter's face, which opened him up.

After a cold right hand to the face, Honeycutt took Reiter down and proceeded to end the bout on top of his opponent to clinch the win.
Galvao Outlasts Davis
A split decision favored the aggressor, Marcos Galvao, who had just enough to get by L.C. Davis 28-29, 29-28, 29-28.
Upon the opening bell, Galvao made his plans clear as he went right at Davis, who settled for retreating away from Galvao's range.
However, neither fighter was able to gain much of an advantage through the first two rounds.
The third round saw a role reversal as Davis was the one to go after Galvao, fearing he wouldn't get the win if he followed the same plan.
It wasn't enough as Galvao showed just enough to pull out the win.
McKee Stifles Wood
A.J. McKee looked as though he was in trouble early on against Ray Wood. Approaching for a takedown, Wood timed a flying knee perfectly right to the head of McKee.
However, McKee was able to hang on to take him down and attempt a guillotine, but he failed.
In an attempt to regain momentum, Wood went back for the flying knee, but McKee avoided it and took him down again, via Bellator MMA:

While the two traded shots in the second round, McKee once again was content on taking Wood down and bringing things to the canvas while implementing a ground-and-pound style, landing at least one solid right hook to Wood's face.
With the advantage in the final round, McKee managed to absorb pressure from Wood and perform another takedown on his way to controlling the end of the match.
Dantas Gets Revenge
After losing to Joe Warren at Bellator 128 in 2014, Eduardo Dantas put on a clinic during the first three rounds of Friday's main event on his way to retaining his bantamweight crown.
Playing into Warren's fiery persona, the champion started things off by taunting his opponent to try and pull him into his range, and it worked perfectly.
Dantas dominated with the jab, landing countless blows to Warren's head. On top of that, he landed numerous kicks to Warren's legs to break down his defenses.

With an open forehead, Warren had to attack and attempted to get a hold of Dantas in the final rounds, which he did momentarily.
However, Dantas provided an opening when he had a point deducted for a low kick in the fifth, which could have taken away his unanimous-decision win. Warren managed to land a couple of clinch knees, which gave him the round, but it wasn't enough for the match.
