Melvin Guillard has a new opponent for Bellator 149 later this month in Houston, and the card is complete with the addition of nine prelims.
Guillard (32-15-2 MMA, 0-1 BMMA) originally was set to meet Houston native Mike Bronzoulis (18-9 MMA, 0-2 BMMA), but now will face Derek Campos (15-6 MMA, 4-4 BMMA) on the main card. Bellator officials announced Guillard’s new opponent today, as well as the card’s complete lineup.
Bellator 149 takes place Feb. 19 at Toyota Center in Houston. The main card airs on Spike following prelims on MMAjunkie.
After a long stint with the UFC and a short stay in WSOF, Guillard came to Bellator as a high-profile free agent. However, his debut proved disappointing, as he suffered a split-decision loss to Brandon Girtz.
Campos will be looking to snap a two-fight losing skid when he meets Guillard on short notice. He was knocked out by Girtz this past November and before that was submitted by former champ Michael Chandler in June 2015.
On the preliminary card, the featured bout will be a heavyweight matchup between Justin Wren (11-2 MMA, 1-0 BMMA) and Juan Torres (3-3 MMA, 0-0 BMMA). Wren won his promotional debut this past August with a unanimous decision over Josh Burns. That was his first fight in more than five years.
The complete Bellator 149 lineup now includes:
MAIN CARD (Spike TV, 9 p.m. ET)
PRELIMINARY CARD (MMAjunkie, 7 p.m. ET)
