Bellator 123: King Mo, Cheick Kongo, and Bobby Lashley added to UFC showdown on Sept. 5 at Mohegan Sun

If you thought Bellator MMA was just going to roll over on Sept. 5, you better think again.

Bellator MMA is not going down without a fight.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) scheduled its upcoming UFC Fight Night 50 mixed martial arts (MMA) event on FOX Sports 1 from the Foxwoods Resort & Casino in Ledyard, Conn., the same night Spike TV airs its Bellator 123 fight card at Mohegan Sun Resort & Casino in Uncasville.

And both promotions are bringing their A game for the Friday night face off.

That's what's sorely missed in MMA these days -- competition -- because it brings out the best in everybody. So with UFC delivering a pay-per-view (PPV) quality card on free television with "Mousasi vs. Souza 2" (see it here), Bellator MMA will also put its best foot forward with "Curran vs. Pitbull 2."

Thanks, Scott Coker.

Also joining the Spike TV broadcast is a heavyweight match up pitting former UFC standout Cheick Kongo against heavy-hitting Strikeforce veteran Lavar Johnson. In addition, part-time pro wrestler Bobby Lashley makes his promotion debut against Josh Burns.

And let's not overlook the return of Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal, finally free of dick-riding promoters.

Here is the current Bellator 123 fight card and line up:

Bellator Featherweight Title Fight: Pat Curran (20-5) vs. Patricio Pitbull (21-2)

Bellator Heavyweight Feature Fight: Cheick Kongo (21-9) vs. Lavar Johnson (18-9)

Bellator Light Heavyweight Feature Fight: King Mo (12-4) vs. Tom DeBlass (9-2)

Bellator Heavyweight Feature Fight: Bobby Lashley (10-2) vs. Josh Burns (8-7)

Goodbye tournament, hello "big fights."

Tickets for the event are on sale now and can be purchased on Ticketmaster.com, Bellator.com or by visiting the Mohegan Sun Box Office.
