Bellator 120 results, photos: Michael Page dances, strikes past Ricky Rainey

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. – An overhand right ended Ricky Rainey‘s evening, but he was out of the fight far earlier against the flashy Michael Page.

The undefeated Page toyed with Rainey for more than four minutes, dancing around the cage, looking at the audience mid-fight, and finally putting a cap on a dominant performance late in the opening frame.

The welterweight bout opened up the main card of today’s Bellator 120 event at Landers Center in Southaven, Miss. It aired on pay-per-view following prelims on Spike TV and Spike.com.

The bout was waved off at the 4:29 mark of the first, when Page set up his fight-ending shot with a stiff jab, one he used to intercept a Rainey desperate to close the distance and grapple.

Even when Rainey managed to clinch and nab a single-leg takedown, Page shifted weight, righted himself and returned to his feet, where he landed a flying knee and spinning backfist in rapid succession.

Although the crowd at Landers Center hardly appreciated Page’s showmanship, booing him both during and after the bout, it was hard to deny the talent on display.

“I felt in control the whole time,” Page said as the crowd jeered. “I think I pored why I’m supposed to be here. I’m going to come back again, and again, and again.”

Page (6-0 MMA, 2-0 BMMA) has stopped all six of his pro opponents in the first round, while Rainey (8-3 MMA, 1-1 BMMA) suffers his first loss in the Bellator cage.
