As Always, Paul Daley Planning an Exciting Knockout in Return to BAMMA UK

Paul Daley at Strike/ Elite XCAfter spending the last couple years abroad, Strikeforce and Bellator veteran Paul “Semtex” Daley will be returning to his native England for an elongated period of time after signing a multi-fight, yearlong contract with the BAMMA UK promotion.

For Daley, not only does the deal give him an opportunity to fight again on native soil, it also gives him a chance to help grow a promotion that has helped him out in the past.

“I’m excited to be fighting in front of the UK Fans, my family, friends, and students,” said Daley. “I expect a busy year with BAMMA, fighting and doing as much as I can to help grow the promotion.”

Since suffering back-to-back losses for only the second time in his career in 2011, Daley has rebounded nicely with wins in six of his last eight fights and finishes in his last four victories.

Daley credits this success with his continued work to better his prep work for bouts.

“I feel I’m still getting better in training for every fight, with ever-changing sparring partners keeping me sharp,” he said. “My confidence is high and I feel my performances have displayed this.”

For his first bout under his BAMMA UK deal, Daley (33-13-2) is a matched up with Romario Manoel da Silva (23-11-1) on Dec. 14 in Birmingham, England, in a bout he feels could be nothing short of explosive.

“I think a fight against someone with his style is going to make it an exciting fight,” said Daley. “Obviously, I expect to finish him by knockout!”

After 10 years and nearly 50 MMA bouts, Daley told MMAWeekly.com that he’s still as much involved with the sport as he’s ever been and has no intention of slowing down any time soon.

“I love the sport, I love training, and martial arts are my life,” he said. “There is still a lot of competition out there for me, big shows and champions I would like to defeat.”
