Artem Lobov down to fight Mike 'The Truth' Jackson – any time, anywhere

“The Ultimate Fighter 22” finalist Artem Lobov is “definitely” interested in fighting Mike Jackson after the recent UFC newcomer called him out on Twitter.

“I always have been anyone, anytime, any place,” Lobov (11-12 MMA, 0-2 UFC) told MMAjunkie Radio. “I literally have never, ever turned down a fight.”

The longtime training partner of UFC featherweight champ Conor McGregor is looking to rebound after a pair of losses in the octagon, one against “TUF 22” winner Ryan Hall and a decision setback to Alex White this past month at UFC Fight Night 82.

Jackson (0-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC), too, needs a boost after failing to stop fellow newcomer Mickey Gall on his push to fight Phil “CM Punk” Brooks (although Punk’s subsequent surgery wound up nixing the promised fight anyway).

For Lobov, though, his matches are less about names and more about numbers.

“I try to fight as often as I can,” he said. “On average, I fought seven times a year, and I’d like to fight more often than that. When I was on ‘The Ultimate Fighter,’ this was the best time of my life. You train, eat and sleep and then you fight every week. That’s how I’d love my life to be. Like football players, they get to play every week.”

After Jackson tweeted, “I know the @UFC fans would LOVE to see myself and @RusHammerMMA dance in the Octagon. I mean, Artem was a ballroom dancer,” Lobov responded, “I thought you’d never ask!!!! Lets do it!!!”

The location of the bout makes no difference to the “TUF” vet. It’s been over one month since he last fought, and if he’s going to reach his yearly average, he better start moving.

“I’ve fought a lot in Europe, I’ve fought in the Middle East, obviously fought here in Las Vegas a few times,” he said. “I love fighting. Wherever it is, let’s do it.”
