A middleweight contest between Andy Enz (7-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) and Marcelo Guimaraes (8-1-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) is the latest addition to the UFC’s return to the Lone Star State.
UFC officials today announced the matchup.
Featuring a featherweight matchup of Jeremy Stephens vs. Cub Swanson in the night’s headliner, “UFC Fight Night: Swanson vs. Stephens” takes place June 28 at San Antonio’s AT&T Center.
The 22-year-old “Tank Mode” Enz was selected for “TUF 17? but lost a decision to Hall to get into the house. Still, he was invited back for an official UFC fight at UFC 169, where he lost a decision to Clint Hester and now likely finds himself in a must-win situation.
Guimaraes was a former Jungle Fight middleweight champion but dropped to 170 pounds for his UFC run, which includes a debut win over Dan Stittgen before suffering a knockout loss to Hyun Gyu Lim. he now returns to 185 pounds for this fight. Guimaraes hasn’t fought since this past March after injuries knocked him out of a planned September fight with Keith Wisniewski.
