Anderson Silva vs. Roy Jones Jr. "Practically a done deal."
“After my contract with the UFC ends and end my career in MMA, I intend to have a boxing match with Roy Jones. That’s something that’s already been arranged, it’s all practically a done deal, Silva said. Now I just have to wait and see”.
- Anderson Silva tells Gracie Mag about his plans to face one Roy Jones Jr. in a boxing match. Silva has stated repeatedly that Jones is one of his idols and he’d love to test his boxing skills against the all-time great.
Looks like it may happen but here’s to hoping it’s later rather than sooner. Silva’s arguably the best pound-for-pound MMA fighter on the planet and due to his style and tremendous skills hasn’t taking a pounding in the sport. He’s a young 33 and still has a ton of great MMA fights left in him.
