In an exclusive interview with UFC Fight Pass, former middleweight kingpin Anderson Silva discussed a variety of topics, including his recovery, his time with family and friends, his responsibility as a 'Brazilian idol,' his acting career, as well as his continued interested in a boxing match with Roy Jones Jr.

It has been over three months since former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva suffered a devastating leg injury in his rematch against Chris Weidman at UFC 168. Silva, who was attempting to throw a kick to Weidman's lower leg area, saw his left leg snap and break cleanly, which ultimately put a stop to the highly anticipated rematch.

Silva's loss, which was ruled a technical knockout, was disappointing for a variety of reasons. Many fans and pundits alike assumed that this could likely signal the end of a legendary career, or at the very least would cost him a significant period of time on the sidelines. None would have imagined that the long-time middleweight kingpin would be walking within a month of his injury, and lightly training again within three months.

While he is not likely to return to the cage in 2014, it appears Silva will be "ready to fight" after a few more months of recovery time.

"I'm feeling well." Silva said in an exclusive interview with UFC Fight Pass. "I would be ready to fight this year. Another couple of months and I would be ready to fight again. But I'm having this opportunity to spend more time with my family to focus and work over my personal projects.

I'm making the most of this moment to look after my personal things and to be with my family."

The hardest thing about his recovery has been convincing himself that it is safe to kick with the injured leg. He claims that motivation and "happiness" have been key to his success so far.

"I was a bit worried, but then I thought to myself, ‘I have been doing this since I was kid - let's kick!' Let's do what needs to be done.

Everything with happiness; Regardless if you are injured or not, you gotta have happiness to recover. You must have the will to carry on and never give up."

Silva expressed his appreciation to the fans, particularly in Brazil, for their support and consideration over the past few months.

"I received a lot of affection from my fans. I felt tremendous human warmth with their concern over my recovery. I realized I have gained something for being Brazilian and a patriot. I have gained the respect and affection of people. "

The affection from local fans has not only swelled the former champ's pride, it has also helped him grasp the enormity of his role and responsibility as a "Brazilian idol."

"My Brazilian role models gave me the capacity to understand just how much I can do for my country. I confess that I am very happy and this increases my responsibility as a Brazilian idol in a certain way. So I will keep working really hard so people see me as a role model. "

Looking past his MMA return, Silva divulged into his flourishing acting career and revealed that he has signed with a top agency in the U.S and has been given some "fantastic" movie role offers.

"ICM is a great agency, representing actors in the U.S. , and I have signed with them, so we have a lot of jobs that we are considering. I have also received a big offer to work in a fantastic movie with a great script.

Things are happening. Thank God they are happening."

While the 38-year-old Silva is focused on completing his UFC contract, he admits that he still dreams about a potential boxing match against Roy Jones Jr.

"I've always wanted to box Roy Jones Jr. It's a dream I want to make a reality but Dana spoke his mind, Lorenzo as well. I understand. This is a business. But it's a dream; a personal desire that I had, but for now it will have to wait. "
