After having his fight at UFC Fight Night 37 nixed at the last minute, Roland Delorme has agreed to a new fight with Michinori Tanaka at UFC 174 on Saturday, June 14, at Rogers Arena in Vancouver. UFC officials on Thursday confirmed the bout first reported by SportsNet.
Delorme had been slated to fight Davey Grant at UFC Fight Night 37 in London on March 8, but Grant was pulled from the fight just hours after making weight. Grant had suffered a torn meniscus about three days prior, but the MRI results revealing the injury hadn’t come in until the day of weigh-ins.
The UFC moved swiftly to line up another bout for Delorme (9-2), who is looking to get the taste of a split decision loss to Alex Caceres out of his mouth when he steps in the Octagon on June 14.
Tanaka (9-0) will be making his promotional debut at UFC 174, having spent the entirety of his professional career thus far fighting in Japan, the Philippines, and Guam.
The UFC 174 fight card is growing, but UFC officials have yet to announce a main event.
