Ultimate Fighting Championship’s Aug. 23 visit to Oklahoma
continues to fill out, as Aaron
Phillips will take on Matt Hobar in
a bantamweight bout.
UFC officials announced the card’s new addition on Sunday.
UFC Fight Night “Henderson vs. dos Anjos” will take place at
BOK Center in Tulsa, Okla., and will be headlined by former
lightweight champ Benson
Henderson and contender Rafael dos
Anjos. The event will also include a welterweight scrap between
Alves and Jordan
Phillips will be making his second appearance inside the Octagon
following a decision loss to Sam Sicilia
at UFC 173 in May. The defeat was the first of Phillips’
professional career, after wins in four separate independent
promotions. “The Model” will be dropping from 145 to 135 pounds for
Hobar is also coming off a loss in his UFC debut. The Legacy
Fighting Championship veteran was finished by Pedro
Munhoz at “The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 3” finale in May. “The
Crowbar” is a citizen of nearby Dallas and will likely have some
local support when the card takes place.
