Foster has not competed since he submitted to a first-round kneebar from Chris Lytle at UFC 110 in February. The 26-year-old Sallisaw, Okla., native owns notable victories against former World Extreme Cagefighting welterweight title contender Brock Larson and Sportfight welterweight champion Nathan Coy. In 18 professional appearances, Foster has never gone the distance.
Anchored at the Strong Style Fight Team camp, Petz owns a 2-4 mark inside the Octagon. The 34-year-old Cleveland, Ohio, native last appeared in July, when a split decision defeat to Daniel Roberts at UFC 116 snapped his four-fight winning streak. Victories against the world-ranked Dan Hardy, American Top Team’s Luigi Fioravanti and EliteXC veteran Charles “Krazy Horse” Bennett highlight Petz’s resume.
A pivotal middleweight showdown pairing former title contender Nate Marquardt with the leglock specialist Rousimar Palhares will headline UFC Fight Night 22, along with a rematch between “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 6 winner Mac Danzig and Matt Wiman. Other matches greenlit for the event include lightweight duels pitting American Top Team’s Cole Miller against “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 9 winner Ross Pearson and AMA Fight Club standout Jim Miller against fellow Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt Gleison Tibau.
