While “UFC 167: St-Pierre vs. Hendricks” was a monumental event to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the UFC, the result of the main event has soured the seminal show in the eyes of many.

UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre hung on to his belt by the skin of his teeth inside Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena, taking a hotly contested split decision over challenger Johny Hendricks.

St-Pierre (25-2 MMA, 19-2 UFC) was pushed to his very limit in the battle, and when the final bell rang, nearly everyone in the MMA community felt Hendricks (15-2 MMA, 10-2 UFC) was on his way to becoming the new champion.

According to MMADecisions, which tracks media scoring, all 15 outlets who shared their scored for the fight felt “Bigg Rigg” did enough to dethrone the longtime French-Canadian champion.

Moreover, according to FightMetric scoring, the official statistics tracker of the UFC, Hendricks won three of the five rounds in the fight.

Despite the controversy, St-Pierre once again had his hand raised, and he set or extended multiple UFC records with yet another victory inside the octagon.

Evans’ six knockout victories are the second most in UFC light heavyweight history behind Chuck Liddell (nine).

Evans earned a first-round stoppage victory for the first time since June 2004.

Evans’ 14 UFC victories are tied with Michael Bisping for the most by a winner of “The Ultimate Fighter” reality show.

Evans’ 50 takedowns landed in his UFC career are the most in light heavyweight history.

Cerrone earned the 12th post-fight bonus of his combined UFC/WEC career. He has earned a total of $505,000 from those bonuses.

Evan Dunham (14-5 MMA, 7-5 UFC) was submitted for the first time in his 19-fight career.

Thales Leites (22-4 MMA, 7-3 UFC) improved to 2-0 since returning to the UFC earlier this year.

Leites is on his first five-fight winning streak since 2007-2008.

Ed Herman (21-10 MMA, 8-6 UFC) lost a fight by decision for the first time since Sept. 17, 2008 – a span of 1,866 days (more than five years) and nine fights.
