Two contests have been verbally agreed to for UFC “Battle on the Bayou,” the promotion announced Thursday. Alan Belcher will return to the Octagon to square off with Jason MacDonald, while Dongi Yang toes the line against Court McGee.

“Battle on the Bayou” marks the UFC's seventh trip to Louisiana and the first since 2002's UFC 37. The event goes down Sept. 17 in New Orleans and will air live on Spike TV. A venue has yet to be announced for the show.

Belcher, 27, has not competed in the Octagon since May 8, 2010. “The Talent” has been recovering from a detached retina that put his fighting career in doubt. Now back to full strength, Belcher looks to continue his two-fight winning streak that he began in December 2009 by knocking out Wilson Gouveia before submitting Patrick Cote six months later at UFC 113.

Like his opponent, MacDonald was also shelved for an extended period of time following an injury. “The Athlete” suffered a gruesome broken leg in his UFC 113 bout against John Salter, taking nearly a year off before returning at UFC 129 to submit Ryan Jensen with a triangle choke.

Yang rebounded from a split decision defeat in his Octagon debut against Chris Camozzi at UFC 121 to knock out Rob Kimmons in his most recent effort at UFC Live 3 in March. Prior to his defeat to Camozzi, the Korean Top Team fighter was undefeated, competing in Japanese promotions Deep and Sengoku, among others.

Winner of the 11th season of “The Ultimate Fighter,” McGee rides a seven-fight win streak heading into his bout with Yang. The 26-year-old debuted with the promotion in June, submitting Kris McCray in the show's season finale. McGee then weathered an early storm from the aforementioned Jensen at UFC 121 in October to submit the veteran with an arm triangle in the third round.
