Basically Fedor was good when the sport was still evolving as well as the fighters. Since he was one of the most well rounded fighters in his time he obviously beat the competition of his time. Now that the sport has become very popular and the fighters have evolved into complete mixed martial artists, Fedor no longer has the well roundedness advantage over his competition which is why he is no longer dominant. Sure he can still pull out wins over people like Arlovski who just want to make it a stand up match, or a wrestler because he can counter it with jiu jitsu. But bring in another well rounded fighter and he's pretty useless like this fight has shown. But of course your going to get fan boys who claim he's still as good as he was back then and that he can beat anyone. All i can say is stop living in the past.

Yeh i agree with most of that, although my comment wasn't aimed directly at you. I'm not denying he was a good fighter because you can watch his fights and see that. My point is comparing his legacy to that of modern day fighters. The main thing i'm trying to get across is the difference in the skill set of modern day fighters to back when Fedor was in his prime.
To me, (and this is just my opinion) I see Anderson Silva as more of a legend because of how he fights, the fact he has been on a winning streak in the UFC with most of them been title defenses and the fact that every match he's having at the moment is against top competition. Now i'm not saying Fedor is ducking other fighters, or whatever other things are been said, because to be honest i don't follow Fedor as a fan too much. But Anderson has no chance to even avoid top competition by been champion and the same with GSP. And before anyone goes off on one comparing the fighters, i'm not comparing the fighters skill wise, i'm talking about their legacies.
You can disagree and I don't mind because that's your opinion, but it's just annoying when people get so far up a fighters ass that they won't realise any flaws.

Previously named "joshismad2". Got to agree with you there hawk. Anderson Silva is one of a kind fighter and doesn't look like anyone can beat him at the moment.

When Dana heard Fedor plan on retiring, he said "strikeforce mismanaged" what he meant was...he would have made millions out of fedor...first he set up super fight...(well he let already Brock win several time so he can sold ticket, he does care who win here)...then he didn't do anything either way with the Cain's fight because he got his crowd, so if fedor was in UFC....mann, he would secured Fedor win with no-name guys until he exhausted out the fan pocket until another Cain's or someone who got a crowd of pocket fans$

Hey guys,
I'm trying to find a video of a match in which Fedor Emelianenko humiliates a huge guy (American I think) in the first few seconds. The video is hilarious because the huge guy is really pumped up before the bell, and Fedor is just looking so uninterested. The bell rings and he then annihilates him.
Any clue as to who that big guy was, or a link to the vid?? Cheers!

Only guy I can think of is Tim Sylvia but he's not pumped up, or at least not of what I have seen.
Heres a link to his record with his opponents and times that the fights ended.
Hope this helps bud.

Fedor in his prime was the best. Look at the footage of Fedor vs. Rampage in PRIDE. Who else would have been able to relax and regroup after a bad ass Rampage slam on your head! Now in the UFC you have the new champ Jon "bones" jones. Increadible fighter and young. He will kick everybodys ass for years to come, as Fedor did for so many years. Cain is a good fighter, but he will never be as good as Fedor. or Jon Jones

wow this guy knows his stuff rampage has never faced fedor next time check your facts makes you look less stupid then people might listen to your opinion and it was actually kevin the monster randleman who slammed fedor on his head and cain would kill fedor even in his prime mma was full of 1 dimensional jokes back then thats why fedors wide open style workded
