see how shogun went straight for the takedown after he got hit?? that means he got rocked by that counterpunch.

round kick to the body. nice kick

Can't we just enjoy an excellent display of striking skill by both fighters, who cares about who got the worst of that exchange! It's not like any of us care because we're capable of the same level of striking.

yah, except shogun blasts machida with a nasty muay thai shin kick and machida gives shogun a little tap on the chin and in the back of the leg with a finessed little karate tap-like punch and kick. thats why shogun wins that exchange.

reminds me of my totally biased friend who was going crazy over that 'cause he thought only Shogun hit Machida

Good kick, but I was most focused on Machida's brilliant counter punch and low kick combo.

Could also be termed "Lyoto tags Shogun with a left straight counterpunch"... that exchange was fairly even. Of course Rogan only mentioned the stuff Shogun did :\

(contd) but i will definitely give machida props for his pain tolerance...that would have dropped almost anybody else. usually a decent punch to the liver is enough to put someone on the canvas.

it wasnt a shot to the liver, your liver is on your right side.

right. i realized that right after i said it. still, though, the amount of velocity in that kick that shot through to the internal organs is crazy. ive seen him practicing that kick with a 35 lb weight vest. its no joke. i dont see how people can compare that with a tap on the cheek from machida. they must have never been struck to the body like that...or punched in the face,
